Subject: Carnival! Estou Feliz!
Family-
So, you liked the picture!? We were on our way to a zone conference! We are caking on the sunscreen, mom you would not imagine how hot it is. We carry it with us to put more on as we walk. We sweat it off, so we have to apply it more than once. I always feel like im burning these days. The sun is very hot this epoca. Its summer. Carnival will start here in a bit. Its a holiday that all brazillians go wild, especially here in Recife. They have huge festas, dance, drink, and dont work. Well have to see what happens with the missionaries during this period. We have a baptism the Saturday feb. 17th. I hope it will go well. Her name is Amanda. We have been working with her for 3 weeks now. She is the sister of a member. She just has had troubles putting aside her catholic traditions. She is a really special girl. She has 13 yrs. But looks like 17. Her mom is very catholic, but likes to sit with us and give us guava juice after the messages. My companion loves this fruit. It really is delicious!
I havent gotten any packages yet with bug spray. It will be nice to get. We have to sleep with windows shut because of the mosquitos. We use fans, but use a sheet to keep them off as well. Last night I woke up soo hot, I went in and took a cold shower. Every once in a while I have to do this in the middle of the night. Mom, Im a little worried now about that package I sent with s. Holding. I hope you get it. I sent home a ton of pictures and all my letters I want to keep. Maybe shes just real busy. I havent even heard from her.
Im going to come home with lots of new babies. Im not going to recognize any of them. I got those pictures you sent recently. Lundon is so big. Chet looks like he is Kenzies size now. Everyones growing up. Oh and Tyler! Whats this with scrubby hair on his face???
I absolutely LOVE reading the letters from Elder Lott! I have so much in common with him and know whats going on. He sounds great! Thanks for the letters always. I am grateful for such a supportive family!
We are teaching a bunch of people that we are preparing for baptism. We have to help one woman get married. I think thats our biggest trial here, because no one is legally married everyone just lives together. We´ll see what happens. We found a kid that was working on the corner. We talked to him and asked him if he would come to church with us, he said yes! Well he had been ready at 8 waiting for us! It was very exciting! He will be baptized on the 24th of this month! The members are working very hard to help us. I think they are liking having sisters in this area! We took pictures of the beautiful enormous chapel, I will send them later.
Mom. You can cut up my card, it doesnt expire yet. I dont know why they already sent a new one. Let me know when Im an aunt! I want you to send pictures, you can email some!
I love you all!
Eu amo vocês!
Tchau!
Sister Lott
