This week felt like a pretty good week, we didn´t end up having people in the church on sunday but the week went well and we have some potenial. Church was kind of different yesterday, we joined together for preisthood with the Relief Society and the leaders here kind of threw it down on everyone. They showed the video of the good samaritan and talked a lot about our responsibility as church members to serve others. To do little things every week like go and visit another member. It was presented pretty hard, but there is always need for improvement! My companoin is a good hard worker, we work together really well. We teach well together and we have fun doing it.

This week we all travel together to Mar Del Plata for a big conference with about half of the mission so that will be fun.

Time is flying by, thanks for tawnys letters I always like to hear whats going on in Brasil.

Oh yeah I didn´t tell you about my last day with my last companion, we were riding our bikes and like I said he´s not the best on the bikes. We went around this corner onto a busy road and I took the corner tight, he just goes around it wide and peddles right into the middle of the busy road and car had to slam on it´s brakes not to hit him. So I tell him he just about died and I´m not lying not more that thirty seconds latter he got hit! A car was going to turn and my companion was riding like one foot from him for some reason and the car turneded just a little bit and my comps handlbars got caught and he hit into the front corner and flipped over his bike. His leg hurt him a little bit but he was fine. The roads are scary here, but really it feels like the lord is looking out for us and guiding us.

This is a pretty weak letter but we get to talk in just two weeks. I will let you know whats going on with the time and the number later. Thanks for the examples and the support. Love you guys

Hello everyone! Im glad that St. George was fun, it sounds like it was a very relaxing trip with massages and all! I was so happy to see the cute photos of little Miles! It was so fun! I just wanted to hold him. Hes getting real big already.

How’s Elder Lott? I love to get his emails. He sounds like everything is going well! I am here with my companion! She is fun to be with! I am grateful for this time I have to serve the Lord. You would never imagine how time flies when your working hard and having fun! We will probably go to a salon and do something with our hair today. We were going to go to a castle that is in our area but its been raining a little bit, so we probably do it next week. But it will be well worth it, people say really good stuff about this cool castle! This area is so green! We live on the seventh floor of an apartment building so we can see some stuff.

We have a baptism of Juliana this week. We have been working with her. She has 14 yrs. and is so excited. The other youth in the ward are really good to her and have already become her friend. She announced her baptism at school in her class for everyone to come! While I have a baptism to attend to it sounds like you all will be busy there at a baptism. How special is this time for the two boys. Tell them I love them very much and that this decision they have made is one that will go with them throughout their lives and the lives of their families. It is a very special time. The Lord loves and knows each one of us personally. Baptism is so special that even Christ who was perfect was baptized to show us an example. There are 3 things we need to have for baptism to be correct. Lots of water, completely covered in water and lifted up again to signify the death of an old life and birth of a new one! Without sin. We must be baptized by someone who has the authority to do so. We also must have an age of 8 yrs. to know right from wrong. This is exactly as the baptism of Jesus Christ. After the baptism of water we receive the Holy Ghost. A companion that will always be with us through thick and thin.

I know the church is true. I know that Joseph Smith restored the gospel here on earth. The Book of Mormon is truly Another Testament of Christ to help us in every day life. The church of Jesus Christ of Latter day saints is the only true church on earth!

I love and pray for each one of you! Thanks for your support!

Tchau.

Hey, everything is going good here. I have a bit of change though from the transfers. I am still here in Azul but my companion got called somewhere else and I have got a new companion. He is a latin from Cordoba Argentina., His name is Elder Romero. He seems like kind of the quieter type, it’s a huge change though from going to training and having to say everything because my companion doesn’t know It yet to a latin speaker. But it will definitely help out my Spanish a lot. Especially that he is from Cordoba, he has got a different kind of accent. The funny thing is that a couple days before transfers the president told me in my interview that I would be with my last comp for at least one more transfer so we were getting settled down to go another one together. But I guess the president received other revelation and that’s how we are going to go with it! I guess my companion really wanted to stay, when we got the call for transfers he ran in and laid in his bed. I finally went in there and he says you said bad stuff about me in your interview and that’s why I´m going huh. I had to just laugh about it and he got over the fact that he was leaving. We were absolute complete opposites, the last night at the house I asked him to tell me one thing that we had in common, and we really couldn´t think of anything. But it didn´t matter, It didn´t change the work and we really got along all transfer. The lord really is blessing me with attributes that I didn´t have before the mission.

I have taught a couple lessons lately on the attributes of Christ and have been focusing on maybe one a week and praying for the help of the Lord for the strength to better a certain aspects of my life. The mission really is blessing me so much with my progression in life, It´s awesome because I can just buckle down and really just worry and work at the things that really matter in life. As I do that the bigger picture has opened up and gives me more desires and room to grow.

I was listening to a talk the other day about prayer, and I really heard something that made a lot of sense and wanted to put it into practice in my life. Just checking in through out the day with prayer. I have always heard that you should always be praying in your heart when you get out of bed until you go to sleep. I never really feel like I am fully doing that. Something that has helped me greatly and has opened up the doors for revelation is just checking in every little bit. Maybe just checking in when I am riding my bike and saying our plans for the moment, telling the appointments that we have planned for the day and the area that we have planned to work in for that morning and that afternoon. Just at anytime during the day just start talking with him. That way if at any moment we are maybe needed in a different area to talk to a different person we are more in-tuned with the inspiration and the guidance that we need. Or the confirmation that the plans we have for the day are what he wants at the moment. Because really can we every pray to much in one day?

We had our district meeting yesterday, the zone has changed around pretty much and there was a good spirit at our meetings yesterday. It was a good start to this transfer, We are taking our day of preparation today because yesterday we were at the terminal until four in the morning sending people off and people coming in. But today we will see how good the zone is at soccer and get some food and eat it at the church and just hang out and play ping pong.

I better be going but that’s for the love and for the examples. I got the pictures of lisa/kade jr. he´s growing real quick.

Love

Hows it going? It must be spring there and getting warmer. Here, it will be winter. We are having lots of rain, but sun too. Today, it rained all day, we went to the grocery store then came home and stayed at home cleaning, cooking, and doing laundry. I made brownies for an activity that we have planned for tomorrow. Believe it or not, I cook! There are many things I eat now, that you wouldn't believe it. Especially dad wouldn't believe.

I am getting to know my new area. It is huge! I still havent seen our whole area. We walk a lot, but it is great we take advantage and talk to lots of people on the way to our appointment. I am loving my new companion! She is really funny, fun, dedicated, easy going, and has a lot of christlike attributes. Time is passing by fast, its already p-day. SUnday went really well. We had lots of investigators at church. I was asked to give a talk at the beginning of sacrament meeting. It went well, i still cant believe that i am speaking another language. The spirit guides and helps every momoent. My companion is helping a lot as well. She is learning english, we try and speak at home and on the road as much as possible.

There are only 4 american sisters and 12 brazillians, so she is taking advantage. We are planning some baptisms, we are excited to help these people know of the truthfulness! We have a bunch of them progressing, its good to get friends of members, the influence is better!

We must always pray. The Lord wants to help us. We can recieve influence through the Holy Ghost. Alma 37:35-37

Im glad to hear about little Miles! He must be soo cute! I sent Kade a birthday card, but it wont get there yet. It sat at home for a week until we could get to a post office.

Enjoy your weekend. Send my love to all. Remember to always put the Lord in the first place and everything else will be fine!

Com Amor,
Sister Lott

Hey how is it going. I am writing later today, Today we changed things around and we had our meetings in the morning. But we did things different and had a testimony meeting first and then after we all watched The Best Two Years, we got pretty lucky it’s such a good movie. We had a big asado at the church and just played ping pong and hung around for a while. So then tonight we are all going to go bowling again with the little bowling balls and the little pins with three tries, It’s tough. So yeah today has been a pretty good day. So we have got transfers again this week, I have no Idea what is going to happen but oh well whatever happens, happens. Happy Birthday Bro, I hope everything went well for ya. How is the baby doing? You need to send me more pictures and keep me updated on how he’s looking and all. This week was ok with the work, not the week that we were hoping for with all of our people we got right now. We just couldn’t find anybody at home or at the right time. It seems like whenever I get excited for something and it looks like it will go like planned the lord puts a little trial in front of me to test me and make me stronger and see if I really want it. But it’s fun, I love this work, this is the place where I am supposed to be and where I am suppose to work right now. The lord really does send angels to help us in our times in need. The plan that my heavenly father has for me is awesome, the plan is for everyone and everyone needs to know it.

Sounds like you guys are getting settled down back home with the weather and with spring break coming up. Thanks for your letters, I love you guys, mom dad thanks for teaching me the right way to live life. Grandpas and Grandmas thanks for teaching them.

Hasta el proximo semana

Hello everyone! WOW, lots of changes. Yes, it is P-day again. You will not imagine what happened today. First of all we closed the area of Candelária for sisters and the ELders will return there. I was very sad to leave all the people there. The members were awesome, our investigators were wonderful. Its all the Lord´s work and he has a plan for everyone! Me and sis. De Oliveira left this morning to arrive at 930 at the transfers. A member took us there, it was much better because it is the hardest thing to try and carry our bags and suitcases on the bus, ive done it one too many times. S. de oliveira went to Garahnuns where its colder in the interior. She is very excited to go there it will be more like where she lives. She was dying of the heat here. And me.... I am in a place called Varzea its in Recife. My new companion is Sister Farias. She is from Sao Paulo. She is so fun already! We are going to have a great transfer! We live in apartment building on the 7th floor. it is very different than our other area. Oh.... the best thing of the day!!! For the first time in a long time, all the sisters were at transfers. Presidente and Sister Woodruff did something special for all the sisters and took us to the most chique restaurant in the city! None of the Elders have entered. It is very expensive and really cool. We ate and took lots of pictures. It was sooo much fun to be there with all the sisters. President said if he took the elders there he would be broke. We just had to laugh.

I am having a great time! I love every moment that I have. We must all work real hard now, for the time of the second coming no one knows. The scriptures tell us everything we need to know. We have a prophet who informs us of all we need to know. We are very blessed in our day. We must let others know of the restoration of the gospel.

I am very happy to hear from E. Lott. Sounds like he is doing great! What a privilege I have to serve at the same time as him and to know a little about what is happening with him. Tell him I love him! Oh and I want to know the name of that Elder Brazillian that he met in his mission.

I’m glad everyone is doing well. The baby sounds like hes growing up fast. Kenzie, give baby Miles a squish for me tá!! My Easter was great. We received a lot of chocolate and a chocolate egg they all receive during the holiday. The best part of Easter was what we all can remember. The atonement of Christ, and that he lives. He has resurrected! I love you all. Remember who you are! Choose the Right!

Até mais!

Happy Easter to everyone. It wasn´t celebrated real big here but they had it. But yesterday at church I though was really good I got a lot out of it. We had lessons on the Preisthood and personal testimonies. So that was good, we fasted two times this week, the one during the week was to help us find people in our area. Guess what happened this week, We found six Investigadores! It was so awesome, so I am pretty pumped up now with all these people we get to start teaching this week. We only have got two weeks left in this transfer and I have no idea what is going to happen with me and my companion. But these last two weeks will be especially fun. My companion is pretty funny, he absolutely loves to crocket. He made me a beany out of his yarn and he made an hermana an easter egg. The members joke with him and call him hermana sometimes it´s great. The members here are really funny, all they do is throw out jokes everywhere.

Thats way cool that Elijah and Ashton are getting baptized together! Thats exciting stuff, I remember Chets baptism where we barely got there on time and then I gave a talk. But thats going to be a good experience for the both of them. Kenzie good luck with your talk on the Holy Ghost that will be good have fun with it.

We are starting to have cool days every once in a while now. In the mornings are pretty cool but it´s not enough to wear a jacket yet because the sun warms you up quick. I did divisions this week with one of the youth kids and it was his first time going with the missionaries and was the only member in his family. It was fun though he wasn´t afriad or nervous to do anything. I will send you a picture with me and him.

This was a little short letter this week sorry about that but I love you guys and good luck with your week. Tell all of the family hi for me and tell Elijah and Ashton congratulations from me.

Hello family-

Today will be quick and short because we are running out of time. We still have to run to the post office before it closes. Dont worry I will be sending you a letter. There are actually 3 that are in it. I had a great week. We didnt camp out at the chapel on Saturday and Sunday. It was a hecktick day. We had to walk to another area to church and we would pick up our first investigators and walk to the church. We watched the session, took our investigators back just to pick up some other ones. It was great to sit with the air conditioning! I had to watch it in Portuguese because my companion is Brazilian and there weren´t any girls watching to do divisions. It was all good. I understood most everything. It was great to hear the prophet and see him.

We had an awesome week! Friday was the day of miracles! We did something with a boy who received his mission call and will be leaving here soon. We took him and taught all his friends and neighbors! We found a lot of people! The Lord blessed us this week. We are planning a baptism this weekend. Victor is a special boy. He is a niece of a member who has been going to church for 1 yr now. He is so ready and has a very special spirit. He already bares his testimony with us. We ask how he feels, and he responds with an amazing answer. Hes already ready to serve a mission!

Its sooo good to hear about everyone. I love to hear about Elder Lott and the things that are happening with him. Oh,,, Tyler It was soo good to finally hear from him!

I love you all! Thanks for the support! Transfers is already next Wednesday. I cant believe it.

Something happened to my arm this week Im not sure

So I went to an hermana in the ward and she put some
plant juice on it which seemed to help.

Elder Lott 4/3/2007 -- Conferencia!!

Subject: Conferencia!!

Familia,

Hey how is everything going? Wasn’t conference awesome this past weekend! We got to watch it in a separate room from everybody in english. We had to tape the priesthood session and watch it Sunday morning because the timing here would have been 9-11. But it was great we watched everything in English except for the talk of president Hinckley in the priesthood session we watched in spanish. So we were all pretty pleased with that. Its so confusing in spanish because it starts talking in english so you can hear it some of the time but then the translator comes in and starts talking so the hard thing is, is that I can understand both and I want to listen to the english because I know that it is his actual voice and then my head starts going crazy but it was awesome. There were so many good talks, They touched up on quite a few different topics really strong. That sessions in the old conference building was pretty interesting, kind of different but still good of course. President Hinckley seems like he is still going strong, has still got his great sense of humor too. Its so awesome knowing that we really have a prophet called of god today. After conference I was knocking doors in Olivarria and all I could think about was the conference and all I wanted to do at every door is testify of a living prophet today.

So we went fishing this past preparation day. It was pretty fun, the fishing was really old school. They were just like bamboo sticks wtih little hooks on the ends and we were fishing for these little tiny fish. It was really fun though I will send you some pictures about that.

So the big easter time is coming up this next week, they celebrate it here too its called pascua. The end half of this week is called holy week for all of the Catholics and I guess they don’t eat meat and stuff, but they celebrate it with an easter bunny too like us. Your gonna have to let me know what happened for yours. You guys can eat meat though I think that’s alright.

I finished the book of Mormon the other day, so I barely got through it in time of our invitation from our president with the three chapters a day and we would finish it in three months. So that was good I learned I ton this time reading it through, so many things just came to me and it was really easy to share with the members what I had been reading during lessons.

This week all of the missionaries are coming here to Azul to work for a day and the youth also from Olivarria are coming here to do divisions with every single missionary so that will be awesome and we will cover a lot of ground with that. So I have to get all that planned out with my companion for the end of this week. We are doing it on Friday, I hope the people are accepting especially this week with the big holy week thing people should be extra nice to us. But things are going pretty good here we are getting along well, I do pretty much all the talking in the roads and the lessons but its my companions first transfer and Its tough to speak to people. The other day we were in a lesson and I started it up and was teaching him then I started talking about the families and then I handed it over to him and he did a pretty good job with it. Then I kept teaching about prophets, Christ, and kept teaching to the point of the apostasy and Joseph Smith and I bore testimony that because of all of this we are in need of a restoration of the gospel and looked at my companion and his eyes got all big and looked up at me and shook his head side to side really fast. Luckfully the guy we were teaching was still listening to me and we continued. But I know what he is going through it wasn’t to long ago that I was in his position. We are having fun though. But thanks for the letters and I hope that everyone liked and listened to conference. Those men really can see things that we aren’t able to see.

Love you all

Elder Lott
